BATTERY PARK
Lower Manhattan - New York, NY
The 25 acre plot located at the south tip of Manhattan has been known as The Battery since the 17th century, when the area was settled by Dutch immigrants. The area was so named for artillery batteries stationed there to protect the region from invasion. Today it is a park enjoyed by millions of people every year, with picturesque views of Ellis Island, Liberty Island, New York Harbor and Governor's Island
